Apparently London and cheap bites do not fit together, but with a little bit of research and as a good bargain-finder you will be surprised to know that one of London´s most hip neighbourhoods is home to take-aways for £5.

Always busy and hectic, London´s Soho, is located in Central London and has become an iconic place where locals mix with tourists and all-around-the-world expats. This has made it a unique place where fun is guaranteed due to the multiple choice of nightclubs, pubs and international restaurants as varied as you can think of. It is true that many of this Hindu, Italian, Thai and Japanese restaurants are quite pricey but here is a list of places where you can enjoy your take-away for maximum £5:

•Papaya: if Indian is your preferred taste you will enjoy countless curries for less than £4: Goan Chingri Baza, Paneer Ka Tamtar and samosas among others are some of the cheap bites you can get!

For more than 40 years, since 1966, every August Bank Holiday Notting Hill Carnival has taken over the streets of West London to bring the best of Caribbean culture to the capital. It has catapulted as the largest street festival of its kind in Europe and therefore is an event not to be missed!

This year it will kick off on Saturday 29th of August with Panorama, a free open- air concert and a steel band competition. Sunday, as usual, will remain the Children´s Day and when the costume prizes will be awarded. Remaining true to its roots and inspired in Trinidad´s famous Carnival; street bands, socca and calypso music are the spotlight of this party.

This city keeps on upgrading its cultural offer and summer has become the most hectic period to enjoy multi-disciplinary arts with both: friends and family.

- Oxegen: a perfect plan for until-dawn-dancers. It started in 2004 and is currently the largest music festival in the country, in the past it attracted big names such as The Who, Muse and Kings of Lions and this year will be catapulted as Ireland´s dancers paradise with Prodigy, Avicii and The Strokes in their line-up. 22nd -23rd of August.

- Electric Picnic: a hilarious experience combining comedy and music in the frontline but offering a complete programme of poetry, circus, cooking stage and political debate. Furthermore, it is an ideal place to go with your family and stay in the special family campsite. If you are looking for a holistic experience and something you have never seen before, visit Body & Soul village. 4-6th September.

Welcome to 31st Barrio Fiesta sa London!

There is no Filipino in UK that would miss this party as it is by far the most expected event by the Pinoy community, estimated at more than 120.000, which have settled in the UK in the last 45 years.

Inherited from the Spanish colonial times, it still preserves the Spanish name for party and this cultural happening of two hectic days full of free events has been celebrated for 31 years. This one, it took place last 18th and 19th of July and as usually the street dances, parades and boat processions were meant to invoke fertility and to honour their national hero: St John Baptist. Barrio Fiesta sa London also pays tribute to famous battles and aims to capture the uniqueness of the Philippine´s party mode.

Acclaimed Filipino artists like: Matteo Guidecelli, Jay-R, Kyla and Reo Brother kicked off the event on the fist day of the party whilst Bea Alonzo, Richard Yap, Zanjoe Marudo and Morissete Amon closed it leaving everybody wanting more dancing and praying for next year´s repetition.
