10 free plans to do in Dublin
Dublin is one of the most vibrant cities in Europe with a broad cultural offer but it is true that it can often be too pricey if you don´t know how to get around. Nevertheless, there are plenty of plans that you can do without pulling out your wallet:
1. National Museums: There are 3 National Museums that you can visit for free: The one in Kildare Street for Prehistoric, Celtic, Viking and Medieval history; the one in Collin Barracks to get a military history of the country and the National History Museum which Dead Zoo is still one of the visitors favourites.
2. South Wall Walk: You can´t miss this 1 km walk to Poolbeg Lighthouse along the South Wall that merges into Dublin Bay from where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets.
3. Áras an Uachtaráin: Take a free 1 hour tour from Phoenix Park and discover how does the Irish President lives.
4. Irish-Jewish Museum: A unique occasion to learn about Ireland´s Jewish community through photography and other interesting artefacts. It takes place in a former synagogue.
5. Howth Harbour: You can spend an entire day here if you are lucky with the weather and enjoy amazing views, cliff walks, a quite busy harbour and even seals watching!
6. Sculpture hunting: Dublin is a city packed with street art, you can find plenty sculptures in public places that are worth seeing, including some of Henry Moore´s works.
